- מְלַחII, Pa. מַלֵּחַ (denom. of מַלָּח) to row; to balance. Keth.85a מְמַלַּח מַלּוּחֵי (not מימלח) rowed the boat (as an act of possession). B. Kam. 117b מ׳ ביה חד מינייהו (Alf.) one of them tried to keep the boat in balance (against the ass that threatened to upset it); (ed. מַ׳ ליה לחמרא (Var. מלא, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 90) he tried to counterbalance the ass).
